A charming title that certainly falls into the rarer category, Gnomes is a unique multimedia title that harkens back to a time when folklore was embraced in children's media (Dark Crystal, Lord of the Rings).
The more naturalized style of art of Gnomes shines on the retro CD-i platform. The title allows the viewer to step-through the world of gnomes in a hand painted storyboard artwork world. In this manner, Gnomes is the exact kinda title I look forward to discovering on the CD-i.
The Charm
- A well thought out presentation of Gnome culture around the world.
- Lovely & creepy Gnome artwork.
- A quick mini-game here or there.
The Fail
- There's not a lot to complain about for me here. The one thing I would have liked to see would be a couple mini-games on the main menu. The title doesn't advertise itself as a game, so this may be a bit unfair.
